About the Organization

Life Project 4 Youth is a federation of 19 organizations in 14 countries whose mission is the development of innovative solutions for the professional and social inclusion of Young people (15-24 yo) from extreme poverty and victims of exclusion. LP4Y supports the decent inclusion of thousands of Young people and their families in 41 programs, 20 Life Project Centers, 4 Little Angel Academies, 3 Green Villages, 4 Youth hostels, 2 LP4Y Labs in South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Europe and America. Over the past 10 years LP4Y has created solutions, always close to slum areas in large cities such as Manila, Cebu, Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, Calauan, Jakarta, New-Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Raipur, Chennai, Kathmandu, Yangon, Dhaka, and Beirut. Currently, we are 140 Catalysts in Asia working with Young Adults contributing to the development of their country. Since 2009, 2,493 youth have been accompanied to the professional world.

In Myanmar, LP4Y opened its first Training & Development Center in 2019 in Hlaing Thar Yar. The TDC was unforced to close due to the unstable political situation in November 2021. The Professional Training for Entrepreneurs (PTE) continued digitally to accompany the Youth from 18 to 24 year-old toward their professional integration. Despite the political situation, the Youth still have the opportunity to do internships and work on their professional integration. Since November 2022, we are glad to welcome 50 youth per year in our new Training Center in the French Institute, a professional and safe place where coaches are accompanying them toward their life project plan.

Description

1) Enhance local partnerships and develop the link with the local communities

The Ecosystem developer (ED) will support the needs of the Training Development Center (TDC) in terms of provision of long-term local partners for the training and to develop strong linkage with the community that can help in the recruitment referrals, professional exposure and integration of the youth:

  • In charge of the local Ecosystem Development in Yangon: reinforce the links in the local ecosystem (companies, NGOs, institutions,...), create new connexions and take care of the pre-existing ones

  • In charge of the ecosystem development, mobilization and integration with the Youth, as part of the pedagogical Training For Entrepreneurs provided by LP4Y

  • Helps with local events and projects involving the community and organized by/for the Youth and the other staff members, engage and participates in local community life activities

  • Fundraising : Leads prospection for local fundraising and work with the Country Coordinator to write proposals

2) Accompany Youth to realise their life project plan

Once trained on the LP4Y pedagogy and the use of our tools you will take part in coaching a team of 20 Young Adults, developing your skills in the following areas:

  • Pedagogy and accompanying the Young Adults: Support the Youth about employability soft and hard skills: professional behavior, self confidence, team management and business development, English communication

    (written and oral), computer (MS office, drive, email, …)

  • Social entrepreneurship: Development of a microeconomic activity impacting the community

  • Coaching : Provide the necessary conditions for the Youth to work on their personal development and prepare

    their professional and social inclusion.

Requirements

The ED will have to work in a team with the volunteers in a multicultural environment but will have to organize its own schedule and to be able to work in autonomy. The minimum duration of this mission is 6 months and will appeal to candidates who are passionate about intercultural cooperation, having already acquired previous professional experience.

  • SKILLS - Fluent in English, outgoing, curious, dare to speak with new people, knowledge of basic IT tools, well organized.

  • ABILITIES - Ability to work in a team and in a multicultural environment. Diplomatic and good communicant. Ability to work autonomously. Proactive and takes initiative with High motivation and flexibility. Volunteer spirit.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES - There is no requirement in terms of education and experience. However, Work experience in the corporate sector or NGO can be a plus. Professional behavior.

Benefits

  • Paid: 750,000 MMK/month the first year

  • Full time

  • LP4Y will take charge of your expenses if you need to travel as and when required for Project Purpose.

Working Schedule

  • Working time: about 40h/week

  • Work days: Monday to Friday based on 8 hours/day
