The is an ideal role for individual who extensive experience in R&D of confectionery and experience working with start up and able to work with lean team

About the company

Our client is one of the largest conglomerates in Myanmar and they have started their expansion plan for the confectionery business to meet the market demand

Description

  • The R&D Manager is versatile for all types of products including for intended manufacturing products, and for retail back kitchen

  • Responsible for developing and executing new product development, and works with the commercialization team to bring these products to market

  • Will have the responsibility for managing the R&D Team, assigning individual responsibility, and enforcing accountability, developing, and maintaining specific timelines and schedules to ensure timely completion of the project

  • The R&D Manager will work collaboratively with cross – functional teams within the Business Unit to deliver new products to our customers in desired timeframe

  • This role is to play as a key gatekeeper for packaging reviews, selecting/suggesting right PM and ensuring accuracy and legality for product packaging manufactured in the facility

  • Keeps track of all the costs related to the creation of these new products and decides what ideas are worth pursuing

  • Developing new innovative products. Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment

  • Manage the new concept development and production scale up process

  • Accurately maintain R&D project records, proactively providing status reports as required

  • Conduct research in areas including food regulation and process validations

  • Assess the scope of the projects and ensure they are on time and within the budget

  • Collaborate with operations to achieve project objectives

  • Approve labels to ensure compliance with regulations and support applications for FDA approvals

  • Liaise with suppliers for new products and ingredients

  • Source new ingredients to aid in the innovation process

  • Lead and mentor direct reports while providing developmental opportunities when available

  • Oversee complex research projects, analyze results and provide recommendations based on findings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as Food technologist with strong knowledge in Bakery, Confectionery, Snack foods Technology

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading teams

  • Knowledge in good manufacturing practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)

  • Able to conduct sensory test, shelf-life enhancements and prepare reports statistically

  • Experience working successfully with customers, OEM manufacturers and suppliers
