Government Liaison Coordinator at an International School in Yangon, Myanmar

The Role

The role will be responsible for managing and coordinating all communications and dealings with government authorities. This role ensures the school’s compliance with local regulations, licensing, and official requirements while supporting smooth administrative operations

Description

  • Act as the main point of contact between the school and relevant government departments and authorities
  • Handle government-related documentation, applications, renewals, and approvals, including licenses, registrations, and permits
  • Ensure compliance with local education regulations, labor laws, and other statutory requirements
  • Coordinate visa, stay permit, and work permit processes for expatriate staff when required
  • Liaise with ministries, township offices, and regulatory bodies on behalf of the school
  • Maintain accurate records of all government correspondence and official documents
  • Support school management with updates on regulatory changes and compliance matters


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in government liaison, administration, or a similar role, preferably within education or international organizations
  • Valid Myanmar driving license required; willingness to travel for official duties
  • Strong experience in dealing with government offices and regulatory authorities in Myanmar
  • Good understanding of local regulations, procedures, and documentation processes
  • Fluency in Burmese required, working knowledge of English preferred
