Underwriting Executive at an International Insurance Company in Yangon

• Responsible for responsible for reviewing medical information, assessing applicants’ health risks, and providing medical opinions and recommendations to support insurance underwriting decisions
• Up to MMK 2,000,000 plus Other attractive allowances

The Role

Responsible for providing medical expertise to support the insurance underwriting process. You will review applicants’ medical histories, health screening results, and medical reports, assess potential health risks, and provide professional medical opinions and recommendations to the Underwriting team

Description

• Review and assess medical information submitted as part of life and health insurance applications
• Evaluate applicants’ medical histories, laboratory results, medical reports, ECG, X-ray, ultrasound, and other relevant medical investigations
• Provide medical opinions and recommendations to the Underwriting team based on applicants’ medical conditions and risk profiles
• Support the underwriting team in assessing medical risks and determining appropriate underwriting decisions
• Review medical check-up results and identify significant abnormalities or potential health risks
• Work closely with Underwriting, Claims, Operations, and other relevant teams on medical-related matters
• Keep up to date with medical developments, treatment practices, and relevant insurance medical assessment standards

Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized medical institution
• Valid medical registration/license to practice in Myanmar
• Minimum 3 years of clinical or relevant medical experience
• Experience in medical underwriting, insurance, medical assessment, occupational health, or health screening is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of medical conditions, diagnosis, treatment, and interpretation of medical investigations
• Experience reviewing medical reports and laboratory or diagnostic results
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with good attention to detail
• Good with proficiency in both written and oral in English and/or Burmese
