With the current circumstances, it is common for everyone that everything is far from being calm. During these times of uncertainty, the environmental effects can take a toll on both the mind and the body. Although if you are not in a position to change the environmental factors in a big way, you can always find ways to alleviate some of the tension that surrounds you.

STRESS // ANXIETY // DEPRESSION // HOPELESSNESS // etc., are some of the negative thoughts you can commonly witness during periods of major havoc. Along with that, your body plays a crucial role when it comes to your mental health. Taking good care of your physical body is as important as calming and relaxing your mind. Having a well-cared for body can make you feel good about yourself and it can lead to long-term feelings of well-being.

HEALTHY DIET // HYDRATION // PHYSICAL WORKOUTS // SLEEP// SOCIAL INTERACTION, these five basic steps play a crucial role in improving the physical, and as a result your mental wellness.

  • Eat more vegetables, fruits, and foods that include good nutrients in order to have a balanced diet along with a healthy body weight. And if you’re the type of person that forgets to eat your veggies, you can always ask your friends to remind you when you go out to eat together! And definitely LESS FAST FOOD!

  • Remember that water is the best natural form of protection against many diseases and dehydration which are your worst enemy. Drink more water rather than carbonated drinks and caffeine and alcohol. As water helps deliver oxygen throughout the body which not only boosts skin health and brain functions but also helps maintain the right blood pressure.

  • Working out is another crucial factor that can drastically improve your physical well-being. Workouts such as Yoga, Pilates, and lifting weights can help reduce stress and even boost your self-confidence. Working out 10-15 mins each day will definitely change the game!

  • Social interaction, although it differs from person to person, one way of relieving tension and amped up frustrations is to “air it out” to someone close to you. This not only relieves your cooped-up negativity but also will let you build an already tighter bond with your loved ones.

These are just some of the ways that could help your body out during stressful times and trust me, you take care of your body and your body will always take care of you.
