Chief Accountant at an Engineering and Power Solutions Company in Yangon, Myanmar

• Oversee full accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed assets management
• Up to 1,500,000 MMK plus attractive bonus

The Role
This role is required to prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with Myanmar Accounting Standards, IFRS, and company policies

Description

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning aligned with company objectives
• Ensure compliance with Myanmar tax laws, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements
• Manage cash flow, capital expenditures, and financial risk assessments
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and liaise with auditors and tax authorities
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to ensure high performance and compliance
• Communicate effectively in English and Myanmar within an international corporate environment
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by senior management or the Board of Directors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are highly preferred
• Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or chief accountant role, preferably in engineering, power solutions, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar accounting standards, IFRS, and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems, Odoo, SAP, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
