National Sales Manager (Vegetable Seeds)

  • Responsible for planning and executing national sales strategies, driving revenue growth, and expanding market presence for seed products while leading and developing a high-performing sales team.
  • Salary – Negotiable 

The Role

This is a strategic leadership role suited for a results-driven sales professional with strong experience in agribusiness or seed product categories. The role focuses on delivering national sales targets, managing pricing and profitability, expanding distribution networks, and implementing go-to-market strategies to drive sustainable growth. The position also requires close coordination with procurement, marketing, finance, and senior leadership teams.

Description

  • Develop and implement national sales plans, including monthly and annual targets, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate supply planning and alignment with sales strategies.
  • Drive business growth in terms of volume and revenue across seed product lines.
  • Lead monthly sales and accounts receivable reporting to senior leadership.
  • Manage pricing strategies and ensure profitability across all seed products.
  • Design and implement go-to-market strategies to expand market reach.
  • Plan and execute promotion schemes to maximize sales volume and market share.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with dealers and channel partners, ensuring effective distribution.
  • Ensure price stability and implementation of promotional activities in line with company guidelines.
  • Lead new product launches and enhance existing products for market competitiveness.
  • Develop new sales channels, including direct farmer sales, NGOs, government tenders, and institutional buyers.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends, providing timely insights and recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with finance teams to improve sales-to-cash conversion and receivables management.
  • Ensure proper management and safeguarding of company assets and data.
  • Lead team performance, motivation, retention, and succession planning.
  • Drive KPI setting, performance management, and timely hiring to maintain team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or Diploma in Agriculture.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a National Sales Manager role, preferably within seed or agribusiness sectors.
  • Strong understanding of sales planning, distribution management, and market development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver revenue growth in competitive markets.
