Description
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national government officials and regulatory authorities
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the petroleum industry (e.g., fuel pricing, environmental regulations, licensing)
- Represent the company in government meetings, public consultations, hearings, and industry forums
- Work closely with internal departments (legal, compliance, operations) to ensure adherence to government regulations and policies
- Prepare briefing materials, position papers, and official correspondence for government stakeholders
- Advocate for the company’s interests regarding permits, licenses, infrastructure approvals, and environmental clearances
- Coordinate with public affairs, legal, and compliance teams on all government-related strategies and issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory affairs, or a related field
- Proven experience working within or closely with government agencies or regulatory bodies, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector
- Prior experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial/manufacturing sectors is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of petroleum industry regulations, licensing processes, and environmental laws
- Familiarity with government decision-making structures and legislative processes
