Assistant Procurement Manager at a Financial Services Company in Yangon, Myanmar

The Role

The role will oversee the entire procurement function, ensuring efficient and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services for the company. This includes negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies

Our client is a leading financial services company, specializing in insurance products and solutions, dedicated to providing top-tier financial services to individuals and businesses across Myanmar

Description

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s operational and strategic goals
  • Oversee the procurement of goods, services, and contracts in alignment with business needs and budget constraints
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies related to procurement and vendor management
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure optimal service delivery and adherence to agreements
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of supplies
  • Prepare and manage procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets and efficiency
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers, contracts, and procurement records
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and continuously evaluate procurement processes for improvement
  • Provide regular procurement reports and updates to senior management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in procurement with at least 2 years in a managerial position, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, contract negotiations, and vendor management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Excel
  • Fluency in both English and Burmese preferred
