The Role

The role will oversee the accounting functions for a group of companies, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and taxation

Our client is a well-established group of companies with diversified interests in various sectors, including manufacturing, trading, and construction

Description

• Manage and oversee full-set accounting for multiple business units, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets for the group and its subsidiaries
• Ensure compliance with Myanmar tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings, audits, and other regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across all companies within the group
• Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and respond to audit queries
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial record
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that financial decisions align with business objectives
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial forecasting for the group’s operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA, or similar certifications are preferred
• At least 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Strong understanding of Myanmar accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills in English and Burmese (both written and spoken)
