The Role

As the External Affairs Manager, you will lead the company’s government relations and external affairs function, building and maintaining strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and key external stakeholders

Description

• Develop and implement corporate communication strategies aligned with business objectives
• Establish and maintain relationships with government ministries, regulatory authorities, and industry associations
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the manufacturing sector and provide strategic advice to senior management
• Ensure full compliance with local laws, licensing requirements, and industry regulations
• Manage media relations, press releases, and corporate announcements
• Coordinate internal communication initiatives to ensure staff alignment and engagement
• Oversee crisis communication and manage sensitive external issues
• Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and community engagement programs
• Advise management on communication and reputation-related matters
• Monitor and report on communication effectiveness and stakeholder engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Law, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, or external relations (manufacturing industry experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar’s regulatory framework and government processes
• Strong understanding of media relations, corporate branding, and business communication
  Established network with government agencies and industry stakeholders is highly advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in fast-paced, cross-cultural corporate environments
• Proficiency in English required
